I wish the description was more clear but these shoes don't have the metal reinforcements that make the traditional flamenco sounds. The soles are smooth and soft, so the sounds are dampened. The shoes are probably fine for a beginner like me but I would've liked more clarity on the soles. They are very comfy, though.
