Tell us a little about yourself.
My name is Aleyna and I'm 14 years
old. I live in Germany. I
wanted to become a professional dancer since I was very young. It has always
been my biggest dream and so it's still.
How long have you been dancing for?
I’ve been dancing
since I was 3 years old.
What styles of dance do you specialize in?
Beside ballet I also took jazz classes for
a while when I was young. I think I’ve always been
concentrated on ballet.
What made you want to start dancing?
The daughter of friends from my parents was
doing ballet and I went to a nutcracker performance in which she danced. After
that I knew I want to become a ballerina and my parents got me in a dance
school. In there we just jumped around and it wasn’t ballet at
all. I wanted to do ballet so we searched so long for a school and finally
found one. I loved it so much. Since then I changed ballet schools two times
and now I’m at the John-Cranko-school for 5 years.
What has been your most memorable moment?
My most memorable moment was when I first
was on stage. I had a little solo role and was only 6 years old. I’ll never
forget that I was so so nervous but when I got on stage. I couldn’t stop smiling. I was
full of joy and happiness. I will always remember this feeling. I enjoyed it so
What has been your greatest challenge?
I don’t think I ever had a
real challenge to deal with.
What advice would you give to other dancers?
Always enjoy and love what you do. Never
compare yourself to others. Stay focused on you. Believe in your self and you
will be able to do anything you want.
