How long have you been dancing for?
I have been dancing since I was 3 years old, and started my
serious training in an RAD ballet school at age 7.
What styles of dance do you specialize in?
Ballet (Classical and NeoClassical), Contemporary, and
Musical Theatre
What made you want to start dancing?
I love the magic that happens onstage when you are
transformed and all the hardwork has paid off!
What has been your greatest accomplishment on your dance
career?
I am very proud that
I have accomplished highly across multiple genres. It's why as a teacher I push
for dancers to be well rounded. I have danced in a top tier professional ballet
company, in Equity Musical Theatre, as a backup dancer, as well as a dancer in
a National Commercial. I love both the "Concert" and
"Commercial" world, and am proud in what I've accomplished in both.
What has been your most memorable moment?
Dancing on some of the World’s biggest venues, including
Vienna's House of Parliament in Austria as a backup dancer for Natasha
Bedingfield.
What has been your greatest challenge?
As a young 15 year old student apprentice with a large
ballet company (Texas Ballet Theatre), having to learn a role quickly (one
night!) to cover a role when a corps de ballet member had an injury. All of my
training kicked in and paid off, and my ballet mistress and the artistic
director both told me personally they were proud!
What advice would you give to other dancers?
Don't give up!!! There is a place for everyone in dance.
Every accomplished dancer has faced rejection, it's how we get past it that
defines us.
